Al-Ahzab (Arabic: الأحزاب, al-aḥzāb; meaning: the confederates, or "the clans", "the coalition", or "the combined forces") is the 33rd chapter (sūrah) of the Quran (Q33) with 73 verses.

The summary/theme of the surah Al-Ahzab: 

Three important events are discussed in the Surah: the Battle of the Trench (or Al-Ahzab: the Clans), which took place in Shawwal, A. H. 5; the raid on Bani Quraizah, which took place in Dhil-Qa'dah, A. H. 5; and the Holy Prophet's marriage with Hadrat Zainab, which was also contracted there.

Lesson learned from  surah Al-Ahzab

  1. Adopt taqwā.  
  2. Rely solely on Allāh.  
  3. Hypocrisy is a grave evil.  
  4. Allāh is oft forgiving and merciful.  
  5. Remember the favours of Allāh by looking back on incidents from the past. 
  6. The Ṣaḥābah رضي الله عنهم were tested to the limits by Allāh, a test which they passed.  
  7. The hypocrites were the enemy within, and they were always trying to cause disruption.  
  8. Who can save you from Allāh if He decides to inflict you with difficulty, or even decides to shower you with His mercy?  
  9. The best example for us is in the Messenger ﷺ  
  10. Depending on your status in society and as a person of religious stature, there is a certain level of conduct that is demanded of you that is above that of others.  
  11. The reward you receive from Allāh will multiply depending on your sacrifices.  
  12. The wives of the Prophet ﷺ were duty-bound by Allāh to inform the masses what would be revealed within the confines of their homes, and any wisdom that would be imparted by the Prophet ﷺ when in private.  
  13. When Allāh and His Messenger ﷺ decide something for an individual, there remains no choice in the matter for them.  
  14. Allāh has more right that you fear Him than fear the people.  
  15. There are āyāt in the Qur’ān wherein Allāh directly rebukes the Prophet ﷺ, yet the Prophet ﷺ did not conceal these āyāt from us, which proves his truthfulness in his claim to Prophethood and trustworthiness.  
  16. Muḥammad ﷺ was the seal of the Prophets; he was the final one.  
  17. Remember Allāh in abundance.  
  18. Ignore the inconveniences and trouble caused by the hypocrites. Rely on Allāh to take care of them.  
  19. There were certain privileges given by Allāh to the Prophet ﷺ over the rest of the Ummah.  
  20.  When invited to eat at someone’s house, don’t sit around talking after the food has been served being oblivious to the host’s circumstances.  
  21. You should never shy away from the truth.[6]  
  22. Send salutations upon the Prophet ﷺ in abundance.  
  23. A modest dress code is a means of protection.[7]  
  24. The knowledge of the Final Hour is only with Allāh.  
  25. The disbelievers will regret not following the Messenger ﷺ in the Hereafter.  
  26. Do not mock and jest any Prophet.  
  27. Speak in straightforward terms. Don’t beat around the bush.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

 

لَّقَدۡ كَانَ لَكُمۡ فِي رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ أُسۡوَةٌ حَسَنَةٞ لِّمَن كَانَ يَرۡجُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلۡيَوۡمَ ٱلۡأٓخِرَ وَذَكَرَ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرٗا
Transliteration:( Laqad kaana lakum fee Rasoolil laahi uswatun hasanatul liman kaana yarjul laaha wal yawmal Aakhira wa zakaral laaha kaseeraa )

21.Certainly you have an excellent model in the following(51) of the Messenger of Allah, for him who hopes in Allah and the Last Day, and (who) remembers abundance(52) Allah in abundance.

وَلَمَّا رَءَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ ٱلۡأَحۡزَابَ قَالُواْ هَٰذَا مَا وَعَدَنَا ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥ وَصَدَقَ ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥۚ وَمَا زَادَهُمۡ إِلَّآ إِيمَٰنٗا وَتَسۡلِيمٗا
Transliteration:( Wa lammaa ra al mu'minoonal Ahzaaba qaaloo haazaa maa wa'adanal laahu wa Rasooluh; wa sadaqal laahu wa Rasooluh; wa maa zaadahum illaaa eemaananw wa tasleemaa )

22. And when the believers saw the allies (of the infidels) they said: "This is what Allah and His Messenger promised (53) us.". And Allah and His Messenger spoke the truth, and it only increased them in faith and submission (to the pleasure (54) of Allah.

مِّنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ رِجَالٞ صَدَقُواْ مَا عَٰهَدُواْ ٱللَّهَ عَلَيۡهِۖ فَمِنۡهُم مَّن قَضَىٰ نَحۡبَهُۥ وَمِنۡهُم مَّن يَنتَظِرُۖ وَمَا بَدَّلُواْ تَبۡدِيلٗا
Transliteration:( Minal mu'mineena rijaalun sadaqoo maa 'aahadul laaha 'alaihi faminhum man qadaa nahbahoo wa minhum mai yantaziru wa maa baddaloo tabdeelaa )

23.Among believers are men who have made true (55) the pledge they had made with Allah. There are some (56) of them, who have fulfilled their vows, and some are still waiting (57), and they do not change in the least (58).

لِّيَجۡزِيَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ بِصِدۡقِهِمۡ وَيُعَذِّبَ ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَ إِن شَآءَ أَوۡ يَتُوبَ عَلَيۡهِمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ غَفُورٗا رَّحِيمٗا
Transliteration:( Li yajziyal aahus saadiqeena bisidqihim wa yu'azzibal munaafiqeena in shaaa'a aw yatooba 'alaihim; innal laaha kaana Ghafoorar Raheemaa )

24.That Allah may reward the (59) truthful for their truth, and punish the hypocrites if He so wills, or may turn towards them with mercy. Undoubtedly Allah is Forgiving, Merciful(60).

وَرَدَّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِغَيۡظِهِمۡ لَمۡ يَنَالُواْ خَيۡرٗاۚ وَكَفَى ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ ٱلۡقِتَالَۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ قَوِيًّا عَزِيزٗا
Transliteration:( Wa raddal laahul lazeena kafaroo bighaizihim lam yanaaloo khairaa; wa kafal laahul mu'mineenal qitaal; wa kaanal laahu Qawiyyan 'Azeezaa )

25. And Allah turned back the infidels in their hearts burning. They did not obtain (61) of any advantage. And Allah sufficed (62) the believers in the fight. and Allah is Powerful, Honourable.

وَأَنزَلَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَٰهَرُوهُم مِّنۡ أَهۡلِ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ مِن صَيَاصِيهِمۡ وَقَذَفَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمُ ٱلرُّعۡبَ فَرِيقٗا تَقۡتُلُونَ وَتَأۡسِرُونَ فَرِيقٗا
Transliteration:( Wa anzalal lazeena zaaha roohum min Ahlil Kitaabi min sa yaaseehim wa qazafa fee quloobihimm mur ru'ba fareeqan taqtuloona wa taasiroona fareeqaaa )

26. And brought down those of the people of the Book (63), who had helped them from their fortresses. and He cast terror (64) in their hearts. You slew a group of them, and you made captive (65) the others.

وَأَوۡرَثَكُمۡ أَرۡضَهُمۡ وَدِيَٰرَهُمۡ وَأَمۡوَٰلَهُمۡ وَأَرۡضٗا لَّمۡ تَطَـُٔوهَاۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٗا
Transliteration:( Wa awrasakum ardahum wa diyaarahum wa amwaalahum wa ardal lam tata'oohaa; wa kaanal laahu 'alaa kulli shai'in Qadeeraa (section 3) )

27.And He made you to inherit their land, and their houses (66) and their wealth, and a land on which you have not set foot yet (67). And Allah has power over everything.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِيُّ قُل لِّأَزۡوَٰجِكَ إِن كُنتُنَّ تُرِدۡنَ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَزِينَتَهَا فَتَعَالَيۡنَ أُمَتِّعۡكُنَّ وَأُسَرِّحۡكُنَّ سَرَاحٗا جَمِيلٗا
Transliteration:( Yaaa aiyuhan Nabiyyu qul li azwaajika in kuntunna turidnal hayaatad dunyaa wa zeenatahaa fata'aalaina umatti'kunna wa usarrihkunna saraahan jameela )

28.0 Prophet (Communicator of the hidden news) say to your wives (68):"If they wish the life of this world and its adornments (69) then come, I provide you wealth (70) and leave you in a handsome manner (71)".

وَإِن كُنتُنَّ تُرِدۡنَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَٱلدَّارَ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ أَعَدَّ لِلۡمُحۡسِنَٰتِ مِنكُنَّ أَجۡرًا عَظِيمٗا
Transliteration:( Wa in kuntunna turidnal laaha wa Rasoolahoo wad Daaral Aakhirata fa innal laaha a'adda lil muhsinaati min kunna ajjran 'azeemaa )

29. And if you desire company of Allah and His Messenger and the home of the Hereafter (72), then undoubtedly Allah has kept prepared the doers of good among you a great reward (73).

يَٰنِسَآءَ ٱلنَّبِيِّ مَن يَأۡتِ مِنكُنَّ بِفَٰحِشَةٖ مُّبَيِّنَةٖ يُضَٰعَفۡ لَهَا ٱلۡعَذَابُ ضِعۡفَيۡنِۚ وَكَانَ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ يَسِيرٗا
Transliteration:( Yaa nisaaa'an Nabiyyi mai yaati minkunna bifaa hishatim mubaiyinatiny yudaa'af lahal 'azaabu di'fain wa kaana zaalika 'alal laahi yaseera (End Juz 21) )

30. O wives of the Prophet! Whoso of you dares (74) to do open indecency (against modesty) shall have double (75) punishment in comparison to others. And this is easy (76) for Allah.
