The summary/theme of the Surah Ash-Shūrā :

Allah has kept destiny in His own hands. Prophets have come only to awaken the heedless and lead the stray ones to the right path. It is Allah's responsibility to punish those who fail to listen to him, not the Prophet's work, to call to account those who fail to listen to him.

Lesson learned from Surah Ash-Shūrā :

  1. There is nothing like Allāh.
  2. Allāh is kind to His servants; He gives provision to whomsoever He wills.
  3. Whoever wants the fruits of the Hereafter Allāh increases them for him, and whoever strives for the fruits of the world only, he is granted a little thereof, and no share from that of the Hereafter.
  4. Allāh is the only One who accepts repentance from His servants and forgives their sins.
  5. If Allāh was to make provisions plentiful and easily accessible to all His servants, they would rebel on earth.
  6. Whatever calamity befalls you, it is a consequence of your own doing; and Allāh forgives the majority anyway.
  7. To take counsel and consult others is commendable.
  8. The punishment for an act of oppression is revenge of the same, however, the one who overlooks and reconciles will be rewarded handsomely by Allāh.
  9. The one who retaliates after being oppressed is nt to blame. The only blameworthy people are those who wrongfully oppress and rebel on earth. A painful punishment awaits them.
  10. Those who bear patience and forgive are the ones truly commendable and full of resolve.
  11. Allāh grants children to whomsoever He wills. To some He grants only daughters, to some only sons, to some both, and to some nothing.

Transliteration:( Taraz zaalimeena mushfiqeena mimmaa kasaboo wa huwa waaqi'um bihim; wallazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati fee rawdaatil jannaati lahum maa yashaaa'oona 'inda Rabbihim; zaalika huwal fadlul kabeer )

Transliteration:( Zaalikal lazee yubash shirul laahu 'ibaadahul lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaat; qul laaa as'alukum 'alaihi ajran illal mawaddata fil qurbaa; wa mai yaqtarif hasanatan nazid lahoo feehaa husnaa; innal laaha Ghafoorun Shakoor )

And whosoever requires righteousness(76) We increase goodness in excellence. Undoubtedly, Allah is Forgiving, the Appreciating.

Transliteration:( Am yaqooloonaf tara 'alal laahi kaziban fa-iny yasha' illaahu yakhtim 'alaa qalbik; wa yamhul laahul baatila wa yuhiqqul haqqa bi Kalimaatih; innahoo 'Aleemun bizaatis sudoor )

24.Or, do they say, he has forged a lie (77) against Allah? But if Allah had willed, He could have set a seal (78) of His Mercy upon your heart. And Allah wipes out the falsehood and establishes the truth with His Words (79). Surely, He Knows fully well what is in the hearts.

Transliteration:( Wa yastajeebul lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilu saalihaati wa yazeeduhum min fadlih; wal kaafiroona lahum 'azaabun shadeed )

26. And He answers prayers of those who believe and do righteous(83) deeds and gives them more reward out of His Bounty(84). And as for the infidels, there is a severe punishment (85) for them.

Transliteration:( Wa law basatal laahur rizqa li'ibaadihee labaghaw fil ardi wa laakiny yunazzilu biqadarim maa yashaaa'; innahoo bi'ibaadihee Khabeerun Baseer )

27. And had Allah increased the provisions of all His devotees (even then). they would have certainly rebelled(86) in the earth. But, He sends down according to a measure as He Wills. Surely. He is Aware and Sees His (87) devotees.

Transliteration:( Wa Huwal lazee yunazzilul ghaisa min ba'di maa qanatoo wa yanshuru rahmatah; wa Huwal Waliyyul Hameed )

28. And it is He Who sends down rain after they have despaired(88), and spreads out His Mercy. And He is the Protector, the Praiseworthy.

29 And of His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and of whatever moving creatures He has spread forth (89) amongst them. And He has the power (90) to gather them together when He Pleases.
