Quran-66:5 Surah At-tahreem English Translation,Transliteration and Tafsir(Tafseer).

Transliteration:( 'Asaa rabbuhooo in tallaqakunna anyyubdilahooo azwaajan khairam minkunna muslimaatim mu'minaatin qaanitaatin taaa'ibaatin 'aabidaatin saaa'ihaatin saiyibaatinw wa abkaaraa )

5. It is possible that if he divorces (18) you, his Lord will give him in your place, wives better (19) than you, submissive, faithful, obedient, repentant, devoted (20) to Salaah and fasting, whether widows or virgins (21).

Surah At-Tahreem Ayat 5 Tafsir (Commentry)

  • Tafseer-e-Naeemi (Ahmad Yaar Khan)
  • Ibn Kathir
  • Ala-Madudi

18. It should be remembered that the purpose of this is to threaten and frighten the pure consorts of the Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم | and not to divorce them.

19. This means that Allah Almighty will provide them with such wives who will be more obedient and loyal than you. It should be remembered that the consorts of the Holy are superior and Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم more virtuous than all the women of the world. But, (Allah forbid) if they had been divorced and other women had come in his marriage, then these would have been superior to those who were divorced. Thus, the verse is crystal clear, as Allah Almighty says: "And if you turn your face. He will substitute for you another people, and then they will not be like you" (S48:V38).

20.This tells us that that wife is good, who is gift from Allah Almighty, even if she is poor. hus, as far as possible choose a wife who is ligious, don't search for one who is wealthy.

21. From this, those wives proved to be very effective and they regarded obedience and. loyalty to the Holy Prophet as greater than every other bounty.

Ibn-Kathir

The tafsir of Surah Tahrim verse 5 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah Tahrim ayat 1 which provides the complete commentary from verse 1 through 5.

(65:5) This is the commandment of Allah that He has revealed to you. Whoever fears Allah, He will expunge his evil deeds and will richly reward him.[15]

15. Although this is a general exhortation which applies to all matters and conditions of human life, yet in this particular context the object is to warn the Muslims to follow the commands mentioned above in fear of God, no matter what responsibilities they may have to shoulder in consequence thereof, for as a reward for this Allah will remove their ills and will forgive their sins and will enhance their rewards in the Hereafter. Obviously, the waitingperiod of the divorced woman whose term has been prescribed as three months will be longer than that of the woman whose term has been appointed as three menstruation, and the term of the pregnant woman may be several months longer. To shoulder the responsibility of the maintenance and lodging of the woman whom a man may have decided to give up, during this whole period, will be an unbearable burden for the people, but Allah’s promise is that He will lighten the burden that is borne in fear of Him and in following His command, by His special bounty and grace, and will reward the person much more generously and richly in comparison to the small burden borne by him in the world.
