📖 Commentary of Verse 8 – Surah Al-Jumu'ah (62:8)

"Say: The death from which you flee will surely overtake you. Then you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the seen, and He will inform you of what you used to do."

✅ Death is Inescapable [21]

This verse confronts the illusion of escaping death.

  • No matter how much one tries to avoid or delay death, it will certainly overtake them—at its appointed time and place.

  • Therefore, instead of fleeing, one should focus on preparing for it through repentance, good deeds, and sincerity.

Death is not an end, but a transition to the eternal phase of accountability and reward or punishment.

✅ Return to the All-Knowing Judge [22]

After death, every soul is returned to Allah—the Knower of the unseen and seen.

  • He will inform them of their deeds, either directly or through angels, and even their own limbs will bear witness.

  • Though angels will speak and present records, the verse attributes this to Allah to show His absolute authority and command.

This verse also emphasizes that the actions of pious servants—being in full alignment with Allah's will—are considered the actions of Allah in a metaphorical sense, reflecting divine approval and purpose.
