Surah Al-Insan Ayat 24 Tafsir (Commentry)

  • Tafseer-e-Naeemi (Ahmad Yaar Khan)
  • Ibn Kathir
  • Ala-Madudi

36. And continue to bear the hard work of propagation. And bear with patience the hardships sent from Allah Almighty. Or, be firm in the application of the laws of Islam. In short it is not necessary for this verse to be Makkan.

37. Reason for its Revelation:

Some scholars have said that once Waleed bin Mugheerah and Utbah bin Rabeeah presented themselves before the Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم Utah said if you stop the propagation of Islam, I will give the hand of my daughter in marriage to you, without any dowry. Waleed said that I will give you so much wealth that you will be pleased with it. In response to it, this verse was revealed (Tafseer Khazainul Irfaan). On the basis of it, this verse is Makkan.

Ibn-Kathir

Proclaim whatever isunlawful and forbidden to be so openly even if an immoralperson might press you hard to show some lenience in thiscondemnation, and proclaim whatever is false as false andwhatever is true as true publicly even if the disbelieversmight use all their influence to silence you, or to make youadopt a little lenience in this regard.
