📖 Commentary of Verse 30 (Surah Al-Mursalat)

"Verily, they had no fear of being accounted for."

✅ Attributes of the Pious [18]

  1. The verse emphasizes that Paradise belongs to the pious, as indicated by the particle لِ (Laam) in لِلْمُتَّقِينَ, which denotes ownership.

  2. The use of the nominal sentence (جملة اسمية) in the structure implies perpetual possession, showing that the pious will have eternal residency in Paradise.

  3. By placing “for the pious” at the beginning of the sentence, it highlights their exclusivity and priority in receiving this reward.

  4. This verse refines our understanding of true success: not in worldly wealth or fame, but in securing a place in Paradise. He who dedicates his worldly actions for the Hereafter is the true winner.

  5. Physical piety is demonstrated by good deeds, while spiritual piety lies in the heart—shown through respect for Allah’s signs and His righteous servants.

  6. This is confirmed by the verses:

    • It is guidance for those who fear Allah—those who believe in the unseen” [Surah Al-Baqarah 2:2–3].

    • Indeed, those who lower their voices in the presence of the Messenger of Allah” [Surah Al-Hujurat 49:3]—proving that humility and reverence are marks of genuine taqwa.

  7. This verse also indirectly rebukes the rejectors, contrasting them with the God-fearing, who are aware of the unseen, reverent, and accountable in all aspects of life.
