Transliteration:( Zaalika bi annal laaha Huwal Haqqu wa anna maa yad'oona min doonihil baatilu wa annal laaha Huwal 'Aliyyul Kabeer (section 3) )
"This is because Allah is the only Truth and that which they worship besides Him are all falsehood [66]. This is because only Allah is the Highest, incomparably the Greatest."
This verse draws a clear distinction between Allah—the Ultimate Truth—and all that is worshipped besides Him, which is mere falsehood. The word “truth” here points to eternity, authenticity, and divine reality, while falsehood implies transience, deception, and lack of worth.
It may also mean that Allah is truly worthy of worship as the possessor of eternal existence and absolute perfection, whereas idols—being created, inanimate, or dependent—are neither lofty nor divine. They lack any attributes of greatness, and therefore, do not deserve reverence or devotion.
Furthermore, the verse carefully uses the phrase “that which they worship”, employing a pronoun generally used for lifeless objects, to highlight that most false gods—stones, trees, carved images—are devoid of consciousness or power. This phrasing reinforces the absurdity of such worship.
As for those who mistakenly venerate noble prophets, the Qur'an does not classify them as false gods, since the Prophets themselves are embodiments of truth and never invited others to worship them. Hence, the blame lies on the act of misdirected worship, not on the Prophets themselves.
The verse concludes by stating that only Allah is Most High and Incomparably Great, possessing qualities that no other being shares. Exaltedness and greatness are exclusive to Him, and this exclusivity confirms His singular right to be worshipped.

(31:30) All this is because Allah, He alone, is the Truth[52] and all that which they call upon beside Him is false.[53] Surely Allah, He alone, is All-High, Incomparably Great.[54]
52. That is, “They are figments of your own imagination. You have yourselves presumed that so-and-so has got a share in Godhead, and so-and-so has been given the powers to remove hardships and fulfill needs, whereas in fact none of them has any power to make or un-make anything.”
53. That is, “He is the Highest of all before Whom everything is low, and He is the Greatest of all before Whom everything is small.”
54. That is, such signs show that all powers rest only with Allah. Man may make as strong and suitable ships for his sea journeys as he likes, and may achieve whatever perfection in marine science and in the related knowledge and experience, these by themselves cannot avail him anything to perform safe voyages especially when confronted by the terrible forces at the sea, unless he is succored by the grace of Allah. As soon as Allah’s grace is withdrawn, man immediately realizes how meager and insufficient are the means and resources and knowledge of the sciences. Similarly, man in the state of peace and security may be a hardened atheist or polytheist, but when his boat loses balance in the storm at sea, even the atheist comes to realize that there is God and the polytheist that there is only One God.
