Transliteration:( Liya'lama an qad ablaghoo risaalaati rabbihim wa ahaata bi maa ladaihim wa ahsaa kulla shai'in 'adada )
“So that He may know that they have truly delivered the Message of their Lord, and He encompasses whatever is with them, and He has kept count of all things.”
✅ The Purpose of Angelic Watch Over Revelation [45]
The angelic guard system mentioned in the previous verse is not due to any weakness in Allah’s knowledge — He already knows all.
Rather, it is to ensure that the Divine Revelation:
Reaches its intended destination (the नबी ﷺ) in complete and original form.
Does not get intercepted or altered by shayatin (evil jinn or devils).
It shows the honor and importance of वाही (revelation), and that the truth of Allah (اللَّهُ ) must be delivered as it is, perfectly preserved.
✅ Allah’s Complete Knowledge and Accounting of All Things [46]
Allah (اللَّهُ ) already encompasses all the knowledge His messengers and angels hold.
The phrase “He has kept count of all things” shows:
Every single matter is known, measured, recorded, and counted by Him.
There is nothing hidden, and nothing beyond His control.
Even the smallest details of the universe are under His command.
📖 From this we learn: All things in creation are finite and measurable, while Allah’s knowledge is limitless and perfect.
The tafsir of Surah Jinn verse 28 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah Jinn ayat 25 which provides the complete commentary from verse 25 through 28.
(72:28) so that He may know that they have delivered the messages of their Lord.[29] He encompasses in His knowledge their surroundings and keeps a count of all things.”[30]
29. This can have three meanings: (1) That the Messenger (peace be upon him) may know that the angels have delivered the messages of Allah to him precisely and accurately. (2) That Allah may know that the angels have conveyed the messages of their Lord to His Messenger (peace be upon him) precisely and accurately. (3) That Allah may know that the Messenger (peace be upon him) has conveyed the messages of his Lord to His servants precisely and accurately. The words of the verse are comprehensive and may possibly imply all the three meanings. Besides, the verse also points out two other things. First, that the Messenger (peace be upon him) is given that knowledge of the unseen which is necessary for him to perform his mission of Prophethood. Second, that the angels keep watch that the revelation reaches the Messenger (peace be upon him) safely and also that the Messenger (peace be upon him) conveys the messages of his Lord to His servants precisely and accurately.
30. That is, Allah’s power so encompasses the Messenger (peace be upon him) as well as the angels that if they swerve even a little from His will, they can be detected immediately. Moreover, a complete record has been kept of each letter of the messages sent down by Allah. The Messengers (peace be upon him) and the angels cannot dare add or subtract even a letter from them.
[1776]- This phrase may also be read: "So He [i.e., Allāh] may make evident."
