Transliteration:( 46.On the day when they will see it will be as if they had stayed just for an evening or up to the morning (23). )
"You are only a warner to such ones who fear it." [22]
The Prophet ﷺ is tasked with warning those who fear the Day of Judgment, not necessarily revealing its details.
Fear of the Day is crucial for benefiting from the warning; thus, only the believers heed the message.
While the Prophet ﷺ is a warner for the entire world, this verse emphasizes the importance of those who are receptive to the warning.
The tafsir of Surah An-Naziat verse 45 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah Naziat ayat 34 which provides the complete commentary from verse 34 through 46.
(79:45) You are only a warner to him who has a fear of it.[23]
23. This we also have explained in (Surah Al-Mulk, ayat 25). As for the words “you are only a Warner to him who fears it”, they do not mean that it is not your duty to warn those who do not fear, but it means: Your warning will benefit only him who fears the coming of that Day.
