"And when the mountains are blown away as dust." (Kanzul Imaan Translation)
This verse depicts the destruction of the mountains, symbols of strength and permanence, which will be scattered like dust during the Day of Judgment.
The imagery emphasizes the complete disintegration of the physical world, showing how even the most stable and solid parts of creation will lose their power in the face of Allah’s might.
Surah At-Takwir (81:3): "When the mountains are made to pass away." – The mountains are described as vanishing, highlighting their total destruction.
Surah An-Naba (78:20): "And the mountains as pegs." – The mountains, once stabilizing the earth, will lose their role, symbolizing the collapse of worldly stability.
Surah Al-Qari’ah (101:5): "The mountains will be like wool." – The mountains will be reduced to weightless, insignificant matter, further emphasizing their obliteration.
Surah Az-Zalzalah (99:1-2): "The earth shakes with its final earthquake, and the earth throws out its burdens." – This highlights the shaking of the earth, which includes the mountains, pointing to the collapse of everything on Judgment Day.
The repeated mention of mountains losing their form across these verses illustrates the utter transformation of the world during the final days, where even the strongest foundations will crumble before Allah’s will.
