📖 Commentary of Surah An-Nur – Verse 24

“On the day when their tongues [45] and their hands and their feet will bear witness against them as to what they used to do.”

✅ [45] Bodily Testimony Against Sinners

This verse paints a powerful scene of the Day of Judgment, when the very limbs of a person — their tongue, hands, and feet — will testify against them.

  • The tongue that spoke slander,

  • The hands that committed wrongdoing,

  • The feet that walked toward sinful places —
Each will be made to speak the truth, exposing what the person did in their earthly life.

This verse is particularly linked to those who slandered believing women. Even if they tried to deny or hide their actions, their own bodies will betray them with undeniable testimony.

The footnote clarifies that this occurs:

  • Before the hearts are sealed, meaning the phase of accountability when there's still opportunity to hear the testimony,

  • And any sealing of the heart afterward will only be a confirmation of their fate, not a contradiction.

This verse reinforces the theme of ultimate justice — that even if false accusations are hidden in this world, they will be exposed in the Hereafter without error or escape.
