Transliteration:( Wa al laa ta'loo 'alal laahi innee aateekum bisultaanim mubeen )
"And do not rise against [19] Allah. Surely, I bring to you a clear authority [20]."
In this verse, Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) warns Pharaoh and his people not to rebel against Allah, the One who sent him. His message was not merely directed to the Israelites, but also to Pharaoh and his nation, because he was appointed as a prophet to both.
By saying “do not rise against Allah,” he was urging them to obey him and to embrace faith, as his mission was grounded in divine authority, not personal ambition.
This reminds us that when a prophet conveys the message, rejecting him is equivalent to rising against Allah Himself, since the prophet acts purely on divine instruction.
The phrase “clear authority” refers to the miracles that Musa brought—such as the staff turning into a serpent, and his luminous hand. These were not tricks, but divinely granted signs that demonstrated the truth of his prophethood.
Such miracles are a clear proof that the prophet is not self-appointed, but commissioned by Allah, and his message carries divine backing.
This verse affirms that proofs were given, truth was made clear, and the invitation was just—leaving no excuse for denial or rebellion.

Please refer to Surah Dukhan ayat 17 which provides the complete commentary from verse 17 through 33.
(44:19) and do not exalt yourselves in defiance of Allah. I have come to you with a clear authority[18] (as a Messenger).
18. In other words, it means: Your rebellion against me is in fact rebellion against Allah, for what annoys you is not what I say but what Allah says, and I only present those things as His Messenger. If you doubt whether I have really been sent by Hun or not, I present before you a clear authority of my appointment from Allah. This authority does not imply any one miracle but a long series of the miracles which the Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) continued to show to Pharaoh and his people for years since the time he came in the court of Pharaoh till his last days in Egypt. Whatever sign they denied, was followed up by a greater sign of authority by him. For explanation, see (Surah Az-Zukhruf, ayat 46-47) note 42-43.
