📖 Commentary of Surah Muhammad – Verse 21

"They shall obey and speak good words [59]. And when the matter is resolved [60], if they remain true to Allah, it would be better [61] for them."

✅ [59] Absolute Obedience and Respectful Speech

True believers obey every divine command, regardless of whether they fully comprehend it or whether it appeals to their desires. They submit their intellects before the authority of the Holy Prophet ﷺ, trusting completely in his guidance. Their words reflect sincerity, respect, and goodness.

✅ [60] Jihad Is a Firm Command

The command for Jihad has now been clearly established and will not be abrogated—whether the hypocrites accept it or not. It has become a defining duty of the faithful, and hesitation is no longer an option.

✅ [61] Multiple Rewards in Every Outcome

For one who remains true to Allah in this matter:

  • If he kills the enemy, he is a Ghazi (victorious fighter),

  • If he is martyred, he becomes a Shaheed,

  • If he is plundered or harmed, it is counted as a form of spiritual reward like fasting,

  • And if he returns safely, it is a time of joy and gratitude.
In all scenarios, remaining steadfast in the command of Allah brings great benefit in this world and the Hereafter.
