📖 Commentary of Surah Muhammad – Verse 6

"And will admit them to Paradise that He has made known [18] to them."

✅ 18. Familiarity of the Martyr with Paradise

This verse describes the reward of martyrs—they will be admitted into Paradise in a special manner:

  • It will feel as though they’ve always lived there. The martyrs will not feel like strangers in Paradise. Instead, they will enter it with complete ease, knowing their place, their companions, and their surroundings.

  • They will be fully acquainted with:

    • Their individual homes

    • Their spouses in Jannah

    • Their servants and bounties assigned to them

  • This is the deeper meaning of the earlier promise: "He will soon guide them"—that guidance leads directly to a familiar and honored place in the Hereafter.

In essence, this verse illustrates that martyrs are not just rewarded with Paradise, but they are welcomed as honored residents, not as newcomers, highlighting their elevated rank and closeness to Allah.

Ibn-Kathir

The tafsir of Surah Muhammad verse 6 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah Muhammad ayat 4 which provides the complete commentary from verse 4 through 9.

(47:6) and will admit them to Paradise with which He has acquainted them.[11]

Ala-Maududi

(47:6) and will admit them to Paradise with which He has acquainted them.[11]

11. This is the profit that the martyrs falling in the way of Allah will gain. Its three grades have been stated:

(1) That Allah will guide them.

(2) That He will set their condition right.

(3) That He will admit them into the Paradise with which He has acquainted them beforehand.

Guidance here obviously implies guiding to Paradise; setting the condition right implies that before their entry into Paradise, Allah will adorn them with robes of honor and remove every filth which had polluted them in the life of the world; and the third stage means that even in this world they have been told through the Quran and the Prophet (peace be upon him) what kind of Paradise it is that has been prepared for them. When they enter that Paradise they will enter a place with which they will already be familiar and they will come to know that they have been blessed precisely with the same that had been promised to them in the world.

(6) And admit them to Paradise, which He has made known to them.
