📖 Commentary of Surah Al-Jāthiyah – Verse 15

"Whosoever does righteous deeds does it for his own [26], and whosoever does evil, does it for his own self [27]. Then to your Lord will you all be returned [28]."

✅ [26] Reward Belongs to the Doer

This means that your deeds fulfill your own obligationsno one can perform fard Salah on behalf of another. It may also mean that the reward of your good deeds will certainly be given to you, even if you convey its reward to someone else. Thus, this verse does not contradict the concept of Esaale Sawab (conveying reward to others).

✅ [27] Sin is Not Transferable

The preposition used here indicates compulsion. No one can commit a sin and pass its punishment to another. Each person bears the consequence of their own actions.
However, the one who misleads others will also be punished, but for their role in leading others astray, not for the actual sin, which was done by the individual himself. The meaning is clear, and no objection can be raised against it.

✅ [28] Return to Allah: Willingly or Not

The believer will return to his Lord happily, like a guest joyfully visiting a dear friend’s home. The disbeliever, however, will return under compulsion, like a criminal dragged before a judge by the police.
It is better that you return willingly.
