Quran-68:49 Surah Al-qalam English Translation,Transliteration and Tafsir(Tafseer).

Transliteration:( Law laaa an tadaara kahoo ni'matum mir rabbihee lanubiza bil'araaa'i wa huwa mazmoom )

49. Were it not so that the favour (60), from his Lord had overtaken him; he would certainly have been thrown upon the bare tract (61) of the land, while he was condemned (by his people).

60. This means Mercy of Allah Almighty guided Hazrat Yunus (On whom be peace) in the belly of the fish. Due to his Tasbeeh, glorification and dua made its belly a bright room and grew for him greenery until he came out of it and appointed every vomit for service (Tafseer Azizi).

61. Neither would the pumpkin plant have grown for him, nor would the animals have served him. All this happened due to the Mercy of Allah Almighty.

(68:49) had his Lord not bestowed His favour upon him, he would have been cast upon that barren shore (and would have remained there) in disgrace.[34]

34. When this verse is read with (Surah As-Saaffat, Ayat 142-146), one learns that at the time the Prophet Jonah (peace be upon him) was caused to be swallowed by the fish, he was blameworthy. But when he glorified Allah and confessed his fault, although he was thrown out from the belly of the fish on a bare beach in a state of sickness, he was not blameworthy at that time. Allah by His mercy caused a creeper to grow over him so that its leaves should provide him shade and its fruit food and drink.
