📖 Verse 26 (Surah An-Najm)

“And how many angels are there in the heavens, but their intercession avails nothing, but when Allah permits to whomsoever He Pleases and Chooses [30].”
(Kanzul Imaan Translation)

✅ [30] Intercession and Allah’s Permission
Even the angels, despite their closeness to Allah, can intercede only for those whom Allah permits. Not all human beings are beloved to Allah, whereas all angels are His beloved creation.

Ibn-Kathir

The tafsir of Surah Tur verse 26 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah Tur ayat 19 which provides the complete commentary from verse 19 through 27.

(53:26) Numerous are the angels in the heavens; yet their intercession shall be of no avail, except in regard to those whom He grants the leave of intercession and whose plea He is pleased to accept.[21]

Ala-Maududi

(53:26) Numerous are the angels in the heavens; yet their intercession shall be of no avail, except in regard to those whom He grants the leave of intercession and whose plea He is pleased to accept.[21]

21. That is, even if all the angels together intercede for a person, it cannot be beneficial for him not to speak of the intercession by these invented deities of yours, which can do no one any good. All the powers of Godhead rest with Allah. Even the angels cannot dare intercede for somebody before Him unless He permits it and is pleased to hear their intercession in his behalf.

(26) And how many angels there are in the heavens whose intercession will not avail at all except [only] after Allāh has permitted [it] to whom He wills and approves.
