📖 Verse 30 (Surah An-Najm)

“That is the utmost limit of their knowledge. Surely, your Lord Knows well who went astray from His way, and He Knows the one who follows the right guidance [35].”

✅ [35] The Reward Depends on Intention
This verse highlights that the limit of human knowledge is restricted, and only Allah truly knows who has strayed from His path and who has followed the right guidance. The key lesson here is that the reward for actions varies depending on the intentions behind them. While human judgment may not always discern these intentions, Allah, in His infinite wisdom, knows the true intentions of every individual, and their reward will be based accordingly.

Ibn-Kathir

The tafsir of Surah Tur verse 30 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.

(53:30) that[26] being the utmost of their knowledge.[27] Surely your Lord fully knows those who have strayed away from His Path and He also fully knows those who are rightly guided.

Ala-Maududi

(53:30) that[26] being the utmost of their knowledge.[27] Surely your Lord fully knows those who have strayed away from His Path and He also fully knows those who are rightly guided.

26. This is a parenthetical sentence which has been inserted here as an explanation of the preceding verse.

27. That is, these people neither know nor can think anything beyond the world and its immediate gains; therefore, it is futile merely to spend time and energy on them.

(30) That is their sum of knowledge. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who strays from His way, and He is most knowing of who is guided.
