📖 Commentary of Verse 16 (Surah Al-Muddathir)

“No, indeed he has been hostile to Our revelations.”

Waleed’s Arrogance and Rejection of Revelation [13]
— Despite being blessed with wealth, sons, and honor, Waleed bin Mugheerah turned hostile to Allah ﷻ’s revelations.
— His greed knew no limits — he was never satisfied, always wanting more.
— He expected continuous prosperity, even while showing ingratitude and rebellion.
— But Allah ﷻ rejected his ungrateful desire:

  • His wealth began to fade,

  • His honor declined,

  • He died in poverty and disgrace.
    — This verse is a powerful reminder that arrogance against divine truth brings downfall, no matter how high a person may rise.
