📖 Commentary of Verse 41 (Surah Al-Muddaththir)

“From the culprits.”

The strength of the faculties of the people of Paradise[37]

This verse illustrates that the people of Paradise will have such enhanced faculties that, despite being far removed from the inhabitants of Hell, they will be able to see and converse with them. Just like some special devotees of Allah (اللَّهُ ) possess the ability to perceive things beyond ordinary human perception, the righteous in Paradise will experience a heightened awareness of their surroundings. An example of this is Hazrat Sulaiman (عليه السلام), who had the ability to hear the sound of ants from a distance, demonstrating the exceptional powers granted by Allah to His chosen ones.

(74:41) about the guilty ones:[32]

32. At several places in the Quran, it has been stated that the dwellers of Paradise and the dwellers of Hell will be able to see and communicate with each other directly without the agency of any instrument whenever they will so desire, although they will be living hundreds of thousands of miles away from each other. For instance, see (Surah Al-Aaraf, Ayat 44-50) and note 35; (Surah As-Saaffat, Ayat 50-57) note 32; on it.
