“And keep away from idols.”
✅ Total Disassociation from Shirk (Idol Worship) [4]
This verse is a direct command to the Prophet ﷺ to reject, avoid, and oppose all forms of idol worship:
— Do not show respect or veneration toward idols.
— Even the slightest acceptance of their status is against the message of Tawheed.
— The Prophet ﷺ is being prepared to stand alone in a society surrounded by shirk.
✅ Context of Revelation: The Call at Mount Hira
The reason for this verse is beautifully linked to a significant spiritual moment:
— While at Mount Hira, the Prophet ﷺ heard a voice declaring:
“O Beloved! You are the Messenger of Allah.”
— He looked around but saw no one — until he looked upward and saw an angel.
— Overwhelmed by the experience, he returned to Sayyidah Khadijah (رضی اللہ عنها) and said, “Cover me.”
— At that sacred moment, this verse was revealed, instructing him to rise and cleanse the world of idol worship.
✅ A Clear Mission of Tawheed
— This verse not only commands avoidance of idols but affirms that the mission of the Prophet ﷺ is to eradicate shirk and establish the Oneness of Allah (اللَّهُ ).
— 🌟 It marks the beginning of a revolution of belief, led by the one who was wrapped in revelation.
