Surah Saba Ayat 2 Tafsir (Commentry)

  • Tafseer-e-Naeemi (Ahmad Yaar Khan)
  • Ibn Kathir
  • Ala-Madudi

5.Like the corpses, treasure troves and mines Or, like the raindrops. grains, sperm, etc In short. Allah Almighty has full knowledge of every hidden thing, whether big or small.
6 Like plants, trees, springs of water, different mines and corpses on the Day of Judges. In short, everything from the earth comes forth through His Knowledge and Power.

7. Like water, hail, snowfalls and angels, the revealed Books of Allah Almighty, fate, sustenance, etc. all descend through His Knowledge and Intention.

8. Like vapours, mist, etc. or like angels, the prayers of those beloved to Allah Almighty, or their souls and pious deeds are all within His Knowledge.

Almighty Allah is such an excellent Lord who has full knowledge of that which is most lofty and most trivial.

9. Thus, He is worthy of absolute praise. This verse is the proof of the previous verse.

Ibn-Kathir

The tafsir of Surah Saba verse 2 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah Saba ayat 1 which provides the complete commentary from verse 1 through 2.

(34:2) He knows what penetrates into the earth and what goes forth from it, what descends from the heaven and what ascends to it. He is the Most Merciful, the Most Forgiving.[4]

4. That is, “If a person (or persons) is not being seized in spite of rebellion against Him in His Kingdom, it is not because this world is a lawless kingdom, but because Allah is All-Merciful and All-Forbearing. Although it is in His power to seize the sinner and the wrongdoer immediately on the commission of sin, to withhold his sustenance, to paralyze his body, and to put him to death suddenly, yet He does not do it so. It is the demand of His Beneficence that in spite of being All-Powerful, He gives the disobedient servant plenty of time and enough respite to mend his ways and as soon as he desists from his evil ways, He pardons and forgives him.”
