📖 Commentary of Surah Saba – Verse 26

"Please declare: 'Our Lord shall bring us together. Then He will decide [86] between us with truth'. And He is the Greatest Judge, All-Knowing [87]."

✅ [86] Gathering and Judgment on the Final Day

The verse assures that all human beings will be assembled by Allah on the Day of Judgment. Initially, all creation will be gathered in one place, and afterward, a divine separation will occur—the righteous will be distinguished from the guilty. Allah will proclaim: “Be separate today, O you guilty ones” (Surah Yaseen: 59). This physical separation is the manifestation of the truthful verdict that had already been declared in the world through revelation and prophecy.

✅ [87] The Most Just and All-Knowing Judge

Unlike worldly judges who may err due to limited insight, Allah is All-Knowing and absolutely just. His decisions are not based on assumptions or outward appearances, but on the innermost realities of every soul. Therefore, His judgment is final, infallible, and entirely fair—without any possibility of injustice.

This verse is a powerful reassurance to the believers that truth will ultimately prevail, and a caution to the disbelievers that deliberate rejection will be judged with full awareness and perfect justice.

The tafsir of Surah Saba verse 26 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah Saba ayat 24 which provides the complete commentary from verse 24 through 27.

(34:26) Say: “Our Lord will bring us together and then He will rightly judge between us. He is the Great Judge, the All-Knowing.”[45]

Ala-Maududi

(34:26) Say: “Our Lord will bring us together and then He will rightly judge between us. He is the Great Judge, the All-Knowing.”[45]

45. This is the last and the strongest motive for the consideration of which the listeners’ attention has been invited. It means to impress: The thing is not only that there is the difference of the truth and the falsehood between you and us, but that both we and you have to be presented before our Lord, the Being who knows the truth and is also fully aware of the affairs of each of us. There before Him not only will this thing be decided who, between you and us, was in the right and who in the wrong, but this issue also will be settled how we made every possible effort to make the truth plain to you, and how you opposed and resisted us in your antagonism to the truth.

(26) Say, "Our Lord will bring us together; then He will judge between us in truth. And He is the Knowing Judge."[1232]

[1232]- Literally, "Opener," i.e., He who decides and lays open all matters in truth and justice and who opens the way to victory, success, relief, knowledge and understanding.
