Transliteration:( Qaaloo Subhaanaka Anta waliyyunaa min doonihim bal kaanoo ya'budoonal jinna aksaruhum bihim mu'minoon )
"They shall submit: 'Glorified be You. You are our Protector, not they.' In fact, they used to worship [121] the (devil) jinn, as most [122] of them were believers [123] in them."
This verse reveals that although the infidels outwardly denied worshipping anything but Allah, in reality, they obeyed and worshipped the devils (jinn) secretly. Their allegiance was to these devils rather than to the angels or to Allah, even if hidden from plain sight.
The term “most” here can be understood in two ways:
It may imply all infidels were believers in the devils, or
It may mean most human beings were misled into believing the devils, with only a few exceptions.
This interpretation highlights how widespread the belief in and obedience to devils was among the disbelievers.
The word “believers” here is used in a literal sense, indicating that they had firm conviction or allegiance towards the devils. However, this does not equate to true religious faith or righteousness.

(34:41) They will reply: “Glory to You! You are our Protector, not they.[62] Nay, they rather used to worship the jinn. Most of them believe in them.”
62. That is, they will answer: You are Pure and Exalted far above that another should be made a partner in Godhead with you. We have no connection with these people. We are not responsible for them nor for what they did. We are Your servants only.
