Transliteration:( Salaamun 'alaikum bimaa sabartum; fani'ma 'uqbad daar )
"Peace be upon you for your patience [71]. What an excellent final abode you have received."
The greeting of peace by the angels is a reward for the comprehensive patience exercised by the believers.
This includes:
Patience in fulfilling Allah’s commands (e.g., Salah, fasting, obedience).
Patience during hardships, such as illness, poverty, and trials of life.
Patience against oppression and cruelty, from both disbelievers and others.
The verse teaches that such patience encompasses all dimensions of life and is not confined to a specific group, such as martyrs or the oppressed.
Hence, every believer who perseveres sincerely in the path of Allah is deserving of this divine greeting and eternal reward.
The tafsir of Surah Ar-Ra’d verse 24 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah Rad ayat 20 which provides the complete commentary from verse 20 through 24.
(13:24) “Peace be upon you.[41] You merit this reward for your steadfastness.” How excellent is the ultimate abode!
41. This implies two things. The angels will come in large numbers from every side and give them this good news: Now you have come to a place where there is peace for you. Here you are immune from every affliction, every trouble, every hardship, and every danger and worry. For details see (Surah Al-Hijr, ayat 48) note 29.
