📖 Commentary of Surah Saad – Verse 52

"And they will have chaste women [101] who look towards none save their husbands [102], and of equal age."

✅ [101] The Companions of Paradise

This verse refers to the pure and loyal wives that the righteous will have in Paradise. These include:

  • Their believing wives from the world who died in their marriage,

  • The Hooris (heavenly maidens) created especially for Paradise, and

  • The believing women who were married to polytheists or disbelievers but themselves were faithful and will be admitted to Paradise.

All of them will be blessed companions, purified and honoured for the eternal life.

✅ [102] Modesty and Purity in Paradise

The phrase "who look towards none save their husbands" emphasizes their modesty, chastity, and deep devotion. Despite everyone in Paradise being righteous, concepts like veiling and modesty will still be observed—showing that these values are eternally noble.

This highlights a moral lesson: just as men must not gaze at women, women must also avoid looking at non-mahram men, and such etiquette is upheld even in Paradise.

Furthermore, the mention of “equal age” indicates that all spouses will be of a similar youthful and perfect age, adding to the eternal harmony and beauty of Paradise.

(52) And with them will be women limiting [their] glances[1330] and of equal age.
