Transliteration:( Fa-iza sawwaituhoo wa nafakhtu feehi mir roohee faqa'oo lahoo saajideen )
"So when I fashion him completely and breathe [125] into him My Spirit, you shall fall down in prostration [126] to him."
The body of Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) was prepared over time and completed in forty years. Only after its completion did Allah breathe into it the soul.
This verse also serves as the basis for the practice of blowing (دم) by pious saints for healing and blessings, signifying the spiritual impact of divine breath.
The prostration by the angels was commanded not only for Adam’s physical form but also in honour of his blessed soul. Since the heart became the seat of Divine light, the soul along with the heart reflected Allah’s majesty, making the prostration a form of respect.
However, this was not part of any religious law (Shari'ah) for Adam (peace be upon him), as no code had been revealed yet. Also, religious duties were not made binding on the angels. If it had been part of a law, it would have required repetition, not just a one-time act.
