Transliteration:( Maa sami'naa bihaazaa fil millatil aakhirati in haazaaa illakh tilaaq )
"We have not heard [11] about this even in the latest religion of Christianity. This is but a new fabrication [12]."
The disbelievers argued that the message of Tawheed (Oneness of Allah) brought by the Prophet ﷺ was unfamiliar even in the religion closest in time to Islam—Christianity. Since many Christians believed in the trinity (God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit), the Makkan disbelievers questioned the value of pure monotheism.
Their logic was flawed. Rather than accepting the truth of the Qur’an, they wrongly assumed that if previous scriptures didn't emphasize absolute monotheism, it must not be valid—ignoring how prior revelations were altered over time.
Calling the Prophet’s message a “new fabrication” was a way to discredit Islam as something invented without basis in earlier scripture. But this accusation was unfounded.
The true message of all Prophets has always been Tawheed, but the devil misleads people through distortion and confusion. The denial here stems not from lack of truth, but from willful ignorance and the influence of shaitan’s whispers, which cause people to reject clear guidance.

(38:7) We have not heard this in the religious community close to our time.[9] This is nothing but a fabrication.
9. That is, there have been our own elderly people in the recent past. There are Christians and Jews also living in our land and in the adjoining lands; and there are the Zoroastrians abounding in Iran and Iraq and eastern Arabia. None of them has ever preached that man should only believe in One Allah, Lord of the worlds, and in none else beside Him. No one can remain content with One God only. Everyone believes in the beloved ones of Allah also. They are All paying obeisance to them, making offerings at their shrines and praying for fulfillment of their needs and requirements. From one place people get children and from another provisions of life, and from yet another whatever they pray for. The whole world believes in their powers and capabilities, and those who have benefited from them tell how the needs of the people are being met and their difficulties being removed through their help and grace. Now this man is telling us a queer thing which we had never heard before. He says that none of these holy men has any share in Godhead and that Godhead wholly belongs only to Allah.
[1319]- Referring to Christianity or possibly the pagan religion of the Quraysh.
