Quran-38:74 Surah Saad English Translation,Transliteration and Tafsir(Tafseer).

إِلَّآ إِبۡلِيسَ ٱسۡتَكۡبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ

Transliteration:( Illaaa Iblees; stakbara wa kaana minal kaafireen )

74. Except Iblis (128), who became boastful that he was among the infidels (129).

128. From this, emerge two issues:

1. To regard oneself as greater or equal to the Prophet is the work of the devil;

 2. The one who insults the Prophet, whether he is a scholar or a Sufi or a devoted worshipper would be regarded as the devil. The devil was everything, but after insulting the Prophet he was reduced to a zero.

129. In the knowledge of Allah Almighty, the devil was reduced to a cursed being after rebelliousness appeared in him. 

Hence, not expelling the hypocrites from his blessed gathering was not due to the lack of knowledge of the Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم , Allah Almighty too had not expelled the devil prior to his disobedience.
