Transliteration:( Illaaa Iblees; stakbara wa kaana minal kaafireen )
"Except Iblis [128], who became boastful that he was among the infidels [129]."
Considering oneself equal to or above a Prophet is the act of the devil.
Anyone who insults a Prophet—whether a scholar, Sufi, or devout worshipper—is following the path of Iblis. Though Iblis was devout in worship, his disrespect reduced him to nothing.
In Allah’s eternal knowledge, Iblis was already destined to be cursed, but it was his outward rebellion that revealed his true state.
Just as Allah didn’t expel Iblis before his disobedience, likewise, the Prophet ﷺ did not expel hypocrites—not out of unawareness, but in accordance with divine wisdom and timing.
