Transliteration:( Am anzalnaa 'alaihim sultaanan fahuwa yatakallamu bimaa kaanoo bihee yushrikoon )
"Have We revealed to them any authority that speaks in favour of that they become Our associates? [77]"
Allah questions the polytheists:
Have they received any divine proof or revelation which permits them to associate partners with Allah?
This rhetorical question exposes the falsehood of their beliefs—for no scripture or divine evidence ever supported shirk.
From this verse, we learn that it is permissible to ask disbelievers and liars for proof, not because they might be truthful, but to disgrace and expose their baseless claims.
However, to seek evidence while doubting the truth of Islam or thinking the other party may be right is itself an act of disbelief.
Thus, the juristic ruling permitting debate with false claimants is fully in line with this verse, as long as one's intention is to refute falsehood, not to entertain doubt.

Please refer to Surah Rum ayat 33 which provides the complete commentary from verse 33 through 37.
(30:35) Have We sent down any sanction which provides support to their associating others with Allah in His Divinity?[54]
54. That is, what authority have do they have to say that the calamities are not averted by God but by the so called saint? Does common sense approve of it? Or, is there any divine Book which says that Allah has delegated His powers to such and such saints, and that they should now be invoked by the people to help them out of difficulties?
