Transliteration:( Awalam yaraw annal laaha yabsutur rizqa limai yashaaa'u wa yaqdir; inna fee zaalika la Aayaatil liqawminy yu'minoon )
"Have they not seen that Allah expands the provision for whom He pleases, and shortens for whom He pleases? Surely in it are signs for the people who believe [80]."
This verse emphasizes that Allah alone is the Provider—He expands sustenance for whomever He wills, and restricts it for whomever He wills, based on divine wisdom and knowledge.
Some people are granted wealth not because of virtue, and others are tested with limited means not because of sin.
Such variance in provision is a test of gratitude and patience.
For the believers, these fluctuations are signs of Allah’s power, wisdom, and absolute control.
They understand that true provision is spiritual and eternal, and that material wealth is temporary and trial-based.
Thus, this verse corrects the false assumption that wealth equals divine favour or that poverty implies divine anger, reminding the believers to look deeper and trust in Allah’s plan.

Please refer to Surah Rum ayat 33 which provides the complete commentary from verse 33 through 37.
(30:37) Do they not see that Allah enlarges and straitens the sustenance of those whom He pleases? There are Signs in this for those who believe.[56]
56. That is, the believers can learn how disbelief and shirk affect man’s morality and what is the impact of belief in Allah on his morals. The person who sincerely believes in Allah and looks upon Him as the Master of the treasure houses of provisions, can never be involved in meanness, in which those forgetful ones of God are involved. If he is given abundantly he will not be puffed up; he will rather be grateful to Allah, will treat his fellowmen generously and benevolently, and will spend his God given wealth for His sake. On the other hand, he will exercise patience; he will never gamble away his honesty and self respect, but will have hope of Allah’s bounty till the last. Such a moral excellence can neither fall to the lot of an atheist nor of a polytheist.”
