📖 Commentary of Surah QAAF, Verse 34

"(It will be said to them): 'Enter into Paradise in peace [58]. This is the Day of Eternity [59]."

[58] Enter into Paradise in Peace

  • The verse highlights that when the righteous are admitted into Paradise, they will do so in peace, meaning they will experience no discomfort, no death, and no expulsion. Once in Paradise, the believers will live in a state of eternal peace and contentment.

  • This peace is not just a state of rest but also reflects the honor and respect with which the righteous will enter. The entry into Paradise will be marked by great reverence either through Allah’s command, the angels, or Ridwaan, the gatekeeper of Paradise.

  • The phrase signifies that Paradise is a place where one will never face hardship, and the joy and rewards will be everlasting.

[59] The Day of Eternity

  • The verse also describes this day as the "Day of Eternity", emphasizing that time in Paradise will be eternal. There will be no nightfall or change of conditions. The state of bliss, comfort, and reward will remain constant forever.

  • This eternity refers to the fact that there will be no end to the happiness of the righteous. The day of eternal bliss will not transition into night, nor will the condition of the blessed ever change. The verse affirms that the joy and peace of Paradise will be permanent and unchanging, offering eternal rewards.

Ibn-Kathir

The tafsir of Surah Qaf verse 34 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah Qaf ayat 30 which provides the complete commentary from verse 30 through 35.

(50:34) Enter this Paradise in peace.”[44] That will be the Day of Eternity.

Ala-Maududi

(50:34) Enter this Paradise in peace.”[44] That will be the Day of Eternity.

44. If the word salam in udkhuluha bi-salamin is taken in the meaning of peace and security, it would mean: Enter this Paradise safe and secure from every kind of grief, sorrow, anxiety and affiliation; and if it is taken in the meaning of salam itself, it would mean: Enter this Paradise you are welcomed here with the greeting of peace by Allah and his angels.

In these verses Allah has mentioned the qualities because of which a person makes himself worthy of Paradise, and they are:

(1) Taqwa (piety),

(2) Turning towards Allah.

(3) Watching over and guarding his relationship with Allah.

(4) Fearing Allah although he has not seen Him, and has full faith in His quality of mercy.

(5) Coming into His presence with a devoted and captivated heart, i.e. remaining constant on the way of devotion and dedication till death.

(34) Enter it in peace. This is the Day of Eternity."
