Transliteration:( Wa laqad khalaqnas samaawaati wal arda wa maa bainahumaa fee sittati ayyaamin wa maa massanaa mil lughoob )
"And indeed, We created the heavens and the earth, and all that is in between, in six [64] days, and no fatigue [65] touched Us."
The verse refers to the creation of the heavens and earth, as well as everything in between, which Allah created in six days. These days are understood to span from Sunday to Saturday:
Sunday marks the beginning of creation, and by Friday, creation was completed.
The earth was created in two days, the sky was created in two days, and the rest of the earthly things were created in the remaining two days. This division shows the methodical and deliberate process of creation.
It is important to note that this reference to "six days" describes the period of creation from a human perspective. In contrast, Allah’s command, “Be and it became!”, demonstrates His absolute power over creation, where time and effort are not limitations for Him.
The verse emphasizes that the creation of the heavens and earth did not cause any fatigue or weakness for Allah. The idea that Allah required rest after creation, as some claimed (particularly that He rested on Saturday), is clearly refuted.
Allah's power is such that He does not experience fatigue or need rest. The creation of the universe in six days serves as a lesson in patience and deliberation. Although Allah has infinite power, He does not rush His actions. This teaches human beings that even though they are often weak and impatient, they should not hasten their own affairs without due consideration.
The mention of Saturday as a day of rest is part of a cultural practice, but it should not be understood that Allah needed rest. The practice of closing businesses on one day of the week was taken from the principle mentioned in this verse.
