Transliteration:( Qaaloo Subhaanaka maa kaana yanbaghee lanaaa an nattakhiza min doonika min awliyaaa'a wa laakin matta'tahum wa aabaaa'ahum hattaa nasooz zikra wa kaanoo qawman booraa )
"They will say, 'Glory be to You; it was not fitting for us to take any other patron besides You [32]. But You allowed them and their forefathers to continue until they forgot Your remembrance [33]. And these were the ones who were doomed.'"
Those who were worshipped will respond, declaring Allah’s purity, and distancing themselves from the false worship. They will say it was never right for them to take others as patrons besides Allah, affirming their innocence and submission to Him alone.
They will explain that these people and their forefathers were given respite, and during that time, they forgot Allah’s remembrance. This neglect led to their destruction—they became heedless and chose the path that resulted in eternal loss.

(25:18) They will say: “Glory be to You! It did not behove us to take any other than You as our guardians, but You lavished the pleasures of life upon them and their forefathers until they forgot the Admonition and became doomed to destruction.”26
26. That is, they were mean people: You gave them all the provisions of life so that they may show gratitude to You, but they became ungrateful and ignored all the admonitions given by the Prophets.
