54. From this we understand that two things are important for Faith to inculcate love for the pious and to show complete dislike for the evil. It is for this reason that the infidels would be expressing regret at both of them. To keep religious friendship with the infidels is an act of infidelity, and worldly friendship is the weakness of faith.
