Transliteration:( Wa 'Aadanw wa Samooda wa As haabar Rassi wa quroonan baina zaalika katheeraa )
"And (We destroyed) ‘Aad and Thamud, and the people of the well [71], and many generations between them."
This verse briefly mentions several ancient nations—
‘Aad, who denied Prophet Hūd
Thamud, who denied Prophet Ṣāliḥ
And the people of the well, believed to be a nation punished near a water source.
All of them rejected Allah’s messengers, and so Allah destroyed them as a warning. Along with them, many other generations also faced similar fates for their disbelief. This verse serves as a reminder of history’s repeated lessons: denial of truth leads to destruction.

Please refer to Surah Furqan ayat 35 which provides the complete commentary from verse 35 through 40.
(25:38) And in like manner were the ‘Ad and the Thamud destroyed and the people of al-Rass[52] and many a nation in the centuries in between.
52. There is no definite knowledge about the people of the Raas. Different commentators have said different things about them, but nothing is convincing. The only thing that may be said about them is that they were a people who had killed their Prophet by throwing him into or hanging him down a Rass (an old or dry well).
[1025]- Said to be a people who denied Prophet Shuʿayb or possibly those mentioned in Sūrah Yā Seen, 36:13-29.
