Transliteration:( Allazee khalaqas samaawaati wal arda wa maa bainahumaa fee sittati aiyaamin thumma stawaa 'alal 'Arsh; ar Rahmaanu fas'al bihee khabeeraa )

59. Who made heavens and earth and whatever is between them in six days, (105) then He settled Himself on the throne befitting His dignity? The Most Affectionate Ask you then concerning Him anyone who knows (106).

Surah Al-Furqan Ayat 59 Tafsir (Commentry)

  • Tafseer-e-Naeemi (Ahmad Yaar Khan)
  • Ibn Kathir
  • Ala-Madudi

105. This means amounting to six days, other- wise at that point in time there was no sun. Days and nights are caused by the movement of the sun. In this respect there is education for man that he should not become hasty in any matter. Any work which is done with calmness is always done well.

106. This means Oh those who recite the Holy QURAN ask the Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه واله وسلم about praises and laudation of Allah Almighty because Allah Almighty is One who is praised is the Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم and  most commendable in respect of praise.

Likewise, ask Allah Almighty for Na'at (praises) because of the Holy Prophet, Allah Almighty is the One Who Praises and the is His praised Holy Prophet one!

Thus the address here is made to the believers, while anyone who knows' refers to the Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم !

Ibn-Kathir

The tafsir of Surah Furqan verse 59 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah Furqan ayat 55 which provides the complete commentary from verse 55 through 60.

(25:59) He Who created the heavens and the earth and all that is in between them in six days, and then ascended the Throne;[72] the Merciful One. Ask concerning Him the one who knows.

Ala-Maududi

(25:59) He Who created the heavens and the earth and all that is in between them in six days, and then ascended the Throne;[72] the Merciful One. Ask concerning Him the one who knows.

72. For explanation of Throne, see (Surah Al-Aaraf, ayat 54) note 41-42; (Surah Younus, ayat 3) note 4, and (Surah Hud, ayat 7) note 7. It is difficult to say what exactly is mean by six days. Here a day may mean a period of time or an ordinary day of this world. For explanation of the day, see (Surah HaMim As-Sajdah, ayat 10-11) note 11-15.
