Transliteration:( Wa laa ta'aamun illaa min ghisleen )
"Nor any food, except pus of the Inmates of Hell [42]."
This verse describes the punishment for the disbelievers in Hell, where they will be given pus as their food. This represents the extreme humiliation and suffering they will face in the Hereafter. Unlike in the world, where they may have indulged in both lawful and unlawful things, in Hell, their sustenance will be something disgusting and repulsive, emphasizing their utter degradation.
The verse serves as a warning that the consequences of rejecting Allah’s guidance and living a life of sin will lead to suffering in the Hereafter, where even the most basic need like food will be nothing but punishment.
However, Allah’s mercy extends even to the sinful Muslims, as they will be safeguarded from this torment. While they may face punishment for their sins, Allah Almighty will protect them from the extreme suffering of consuming the pus of Hell. This highlights the distinction between the ultimate fate of the disbelievers and that of the sinful believers, who, despite their shortcomings, will not face the same eternal torment as the disbelievers.
