Transliteration:( Fa-ammaa Samoodu fa uhlikoo bittaaghiyah )
"Then as for the Thamud, they were destroyed by a violent [3] blast."
The Thamud were destroyed by a violent blast sent by Hazrat Jibraeel (Gabriel). This powerful sound, emanating from Jibraeel, was so intense that the people could not withstand it. It was similar to the effect of a cannon blast or thunder, so deafening that it led to their instant destruction.
This blast is described as causing the earth to tremor, and through this divine act, the Thamud were obliterated. This explanation aligns with the verse: "Then the earthquake took them" (Surah 7:78), showing that the destruction was brought about through the earthquake-like tremor, which resulted from the sound.
This verse highlights the immense power of divine retribution and how the Thamud's rejection of the truth led to their destruction through a powerful, divine act. The sound of Hazrat Jibraeel’s blast serves as a reminder of Allah's absolute control over creation and the consequences of disbelief.

5. In (Surah Al-Aaraf, Ayat 78), it has been called ar-rajfah (a terrible earthquake); in (Surah Houd, Ayat 67) as-sayhah (a violent blast); in (Surah HaMim As-Sajdah, Ayat 17), it has been said: They were overtaken by saiqa-tul-adhab (a humiliating scourge); and here the same punishment has been described as at-taghiyah (a violent catastrophe). These words describe different aspects of the same calamity.
