Transliteration:( Qaaloo Rabbunaa ya'lamu innaaa ilaikum lamursaloon )
"They said: 'Our Lord knows that surely we have [23] been sent as Messengers to you.'"
In response to the harsh rejection, the Messengers replied with firm conviction, saying that Allah is their witness—He knows they were truly sent to deliver the message.
According to tafsir, these individuals were deputies of Prophet Isa (peace be upon him), sent to guide the people on his behalf. Due to the severity of the people's denial, the Messengers were compelled to swear by Allah’s knowledge to confirm the truth of their mission.
Their statement highlights both their sincerity and the seriousness of the message, making it clear that their purpose was not personal, but a divine responsibility.
