Transliteration:( Fal-Yawma laa tuzlamu nafsun shai'anw-wa laa tujzawna illaa maa kuntum ta'maloon )
"And on that day no soul shall be wronged and you shall not be rewarded except what you used to do [85]."
This declaration will be addressed to the disbelievers, affirming that no soul will be treated unjustly—everyone will face the exact consequences of their own actions.
From this arise two important points:
The minor children of disbelievers will not be punished, as they had not committed any evil deeds. This reflects Allah’s justice in not holding anyone accountable without action or intent.
Believers, on the other hand, will be rewarded for their good deeds as well as for the gracious favours of Allah Almighty. As Allah has said:
"And there is yet more than that" (Surah Qaf: Verse 35) — indicating additional blessings beyond what they earned, purely from His mercy and generosity.
The tafsir of Surah Yaseen verse 54 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah Yaseen ayat 51 which provides the complete commentary from verse 51 through 54.
(36:54) Today[50] no one shall suffer the least injustice, and you shall not be recompensed except according to your deeds.
50. This is what Allah will tell the disbelievers and the polytheists, the sinners and the culprits, when they will be presented before Him.
