Transliteration:( Wa maa ta'teehim min aayatim min Aayaati Rabbihim illaa kaanoo 'anhaa mu'rideen )
"And when there comes to them no sign from the signs [68] of their Lord, but they turn away their faces from it [69]."
The “signs” here refer to:
The Holy Qur’an,
The miracles shown by the Holy Prophet ﷺ, and
Worldly phenomena such as abundance or scarcity—all of which are clear indications of Allah’s power and authority.
These signs are repeatedly shown, yet the disbelievers refuse to acknowledge them.
They turn their faces away, meaning they deliberately avoid reflection and reject the signs instead of pondering over them.
This verse teaches that contemplating Divine signs is an act of worship, while neglecting them is an act of disobedience and arrogance.
The warning is clear: one who refuses to learn from the signs is turning away from guidance and mercy.
The tafsir of Surah Yaseen verse 46 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah Yaseen ayat 45 which provides the complete commentary from verse 45 through 47.
(36:46) Never does any Sign of their Lord come to them, but they turn away from it.[42]
42. “Signs”: Verses of the divine Book by which man is admonished, and the signs which are found in the universe and in man’s own self and in his history which serve as abject lessons for man, provided he is inclined to learn any lesson.
