📖 Commentary of Surah Al-Anfal – Verse 10

"And Allah did this only as glad tidings for you so that your hearts might find peace. And victory comes only from Allah [20]. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might, Wise."

✅ [20] Angels Sent as Reassurance, Not Necessity

This verse clarifies that the sending of angels was not due to necessity in battle, as a single angel would have been enough to destroy the disbelievers. Instead, it was meant as glad tidings and to bring calm and assurance to the believers’ hearts.

Two key points emerge:

  1. The Companions of Badr were of such immense stature that angels fought beside them, honoring their courage and sincerity.

  2. The Holy Prophet ﷺ, as the supreme leader, had angels serving under his command, reflecting his lofty rank and divine leadership.

Ultimately, victory is from Allah alone, and His wisdom decrees both the means and the outcome. He is All-Powerful and All-Wise.
