Transliteration:( Wa maa ja'alahul laahu illaa bushraa wa litatma'inna bihee quloobukum; wa man nasru illaa min 'indil laah; innal laaha Azeezun Hakeem )

10. And Allah did this but for your pleasure (19), and in order that your hearts might find contentment. And there is no help, but from Allah(20) Surely, Allah is Dominant, Wise.

Surah Al-Anfal Ayat 10 Tafsir (Commentry)

  • Tafseer-e-Naeemi (Ahmad Yaar Khan)
  • Ibn Kathir
  • Ala-Madudi

19. This tells us that these angels had not come for the destruction of the infidels, because one angel would have been sufficient for that, but the purpose of their coming was to aid the Muslims

20.From this emerges two issues:

1 The Companions who fought at Badr are persons of such great magnitude that angels fought side by side with them against the infidels.

2. And the Holy Prophet  is a prophet of such grandeur that angels came to serve under his supervision, because there was the Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم  commander in chief, and these angels were his subordinates.

Ibn-Kathir
