Transliteration:( Qaala Rabbin surnee 'alal qawmil mufsideen (section 3) )
"He submitted, 'O my Lord, help me against these corrupt people' [70]."
When Prophet Lut (peace be upon him) saw that his people remained entrenched in immorality and mockery, despite repeated warnings, he turned to Allah with a heartfelt supplication. His words—“help me against these corrupt people”—were a call for divine intervention and justice.
The help he sought was for Allah to remove and punish those who openly defied divine law and corrupted society. As noted in classical tafsir, the destruction of such obstinate disbelievers becomes a form of support for the believers, clearing the way for a moral and faithful community.
This verse also highlights that the support given to Allah’s prophets and righteous servants is in fact Allah’s own support, as their cause aligns with divine justice. These prophets and saints are seen as manifestations of divine power—not independent agents, but representatives of Allah’s will on Earth.
