Transliteration:( Yaa qawmi innamaa haazihil hayaatud dunyaa mataa'unw wa innal Aakhirata hiya daarul qaraar )
"O, my people! This life of the [106] world is only a temporary enjoyment, and the Hereafter is certainly the home for permanent [107] residence."
The first point of advice given by the believer from Pharaoh’s people was to alert them to the deceptive nature of worldly life. He emphasized that this worldly life is nothing but a short-lived enjoyment, meant only as a test. The true purpose of life is not the pursuit of earthly power, wealth, or status, but to prepare for what is permanent.
This warning was necessary because love for the world is the root of many sins, especially arrogance and rebellion. It was this same obsession with worldly grandeur that led Pharaoh to claim divinity and oppose Allah's Messenger. The believer’s reminder aims to shift hearts from being trapped in temporary illusions to focusing on eternal truths.
He then contrasts the temporary nature of the world with the eternal reality of the Hereafter. Whatever comforts or punishments exist there, they are everlasting. The believer alludes to this to stress the importance of righteous actions, as good deeds lead to eternal comfort, while evil actions bring everlasting torment.
This verse serves as a timeless reminder: no matter how grand this world may appear, its pleasures are limited and passing, whereas the Hereafter is the real destination—either a home of peace and reward or a place of regret and punishment, based entirely on one’s deeds.
