Transliteration:( Kazzabat qablahum qawmu Noohinw wal Ahzaabu min ba'dihim wa hammat kullu ummatin bi Rasoolihim li ya'khuzoohu wa jaadaloo bilbaatili li yud hidoo bihil haqqa fa akhaztuhum fa kaifa kaana 'iqaab )
"Before them the people of Nuh and other groups after them belied [10] (the Prophets). And every Ummah aimed that they may seize their Messenger [11] and dispute with false [12] arguments that they may render the truth [13] null thereby. So, I seized them. How then was My Penalty [14]?"
This verse draws attention to how previous nations, like those of Nuh, Aad, and Thamud, also rejected their Prophets—despite enjoying worldly power, wealth, and long lives. Their rejection did not grant them true success or protection.
Each nation sought to eliminate their Prophet—either by killing or imprisoning them—to silence their message. However, this persistent opposition only served to highlight the nobility and perseverance of the Prophets, as truth shines brighter when opposed by falsehood.
Just like Pharaoh tried to counter the miracles of Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him) with sorcery, these deniers use false logic and worldly power to resist divine truth. But their schemes were shallow.
Their aim was to nullify the message of the Prophets, reducing miracles to illusions and divine signs to deception, hoping the truth would vanish.
Allah then says: “So, I seized them” —a warning of His swift and complete punishment. Not one of these rebellious nations endured. Either they embraced the truth, or they were utterly destroyed, just as history witnessed.

(40:5) Before them the people of Noah also gave the lie (to Messengers), and so did many parties after them. Each nation sallied forth against its Messenger to seize him, and they disputed with false arguments seeking therewith to repudiate the Truth. Then I seized them; and behold, how woeful was My retribution!
