"When they will wish to get out [46] of it due to anguish, again they will be turned back into it and it will be commanded to them, taste the torment of the fire."
This verse captures the desperation and unending torment of Hell’s inhabitants.
At times, the gates of Hell will appear to open, prompting the tormented souls to rush toward them in a final hope of escape.
After enduring immense suffering, they will struggle to reach the gate—only for it to close again, thrusting them back into the fire.
This cycle of false hope and renewed despair will repeat eternally, magnifying their torment.
At that moment, it will be declared to them:
“Taste the torment of the fire,”
– an eternal reminder of their punishment and rejection of truth.
