"And those who disbelieved, and belied our signs, for them is the torment of humiliation. [122]"
This verse clarifies that the punishment for disbelievers is not only physical torment but also public disgrace and humiliation in the Hereafter. Their denial of divine signs and rejection of truth leads to a punishment that is both painful and degrading.
From this, scholars derive that while some sinful Muslims may enter Hell for their misdeeds, they will not face humiliation there. If Allah wills, their punishment will remain hidden from others—a mercy not granted to disbelievers, whose disgrace will be open and manifest.
