Transliteration:( Liyahmilooo awzaarahum kaamilatany Yawmal Qiyaamati wa min awzaaril lazeena yudilloonahum bighairi 'ilm; alaa saaa'a maa yaziroon (section 3) )
"So that they may bear their burdens [47] in full on the Day of Judgment, and also the burdens of those whom they misled [48] without knowledge. How evil is the burden they bear [49]!"
This verse shows that disbelievers and misleaders will bear the full weight of their sins on the Day of Judgment. From this, we understand that believers will not carry their burdens in full, as many of their sins will be forgiven through Allah’s mercy, repentance, good deeds, and intercession. The disbelievers, however, will have no relief, and their accountability will be complete and severe.
Those who mislead others from the path of truth, especially infidel leaders, will not only bear their own sins, but also the sins of their followers who were misguided due to their deception and propaganda.
Likewise, on the side of righteousness, the Ulama and pious guides will receive the reward for their own good deeds, and also the rewards of those people who reformed their lives through their guidance. This illustrates the principle of shared impact—both in evil and in good—when influence is used over others.
The verse concludes by declaring how evil and dreadful is the burden they carry—one that includes layers of sin, not just from their own disbelief, but also from the chain of misguidance they set in motion. It is important to note that they will not carry this burden willingly, but rather as a forced consequence of their choices.
This verse serves as a severe warning to anyone who spreads misguidance, and a reminder of responsibility for those in positions of influence and leadership.
