📖 Commentary of Surah An-Nahl – Verse 34

"So the evil consequences of what they did fell upon them [72], and that which they used to mock surrounded them."

✅ [72] The Result of Their Sins and Arrogance

This verse declares that the punishment for their sins and disbelief ultimately caught up with them. The phrase "evil consequences of what they did" refers to the divine punishment they earned through their rejection, arrogance, and persistent wrongdoing.

Allah states elsewhere in the Qur'an:
"And the recompense of evil is evil the like of it" (S42:V40).
This reflects the justice of Allah—what one sows, one must reap. The punishment matched their crimes, and no injustice was done to them.

Additionally, the very divine warnings and punishments they mocked and ridiculed became the same realities that surrounded them—overwhelming them from every side. What they once laughed at and dismissed became their inescapable fate.

This verse serves as a powerful reminder that mocking divine guidance does not nullify its truth, and delayed consequences do not mean no consequences.
